Hard to say, but Hot Wheels will at least give us enough examples to at least try to come up with an answer.
Pics have emerged of the latest version of the E36, and we must say it looks pretty darn nice in blue with BMW racing deco:
We have had some issues with this casting, mainly with its stance and length, but at least based on this pic, blue might help enhance it a bit. Then again the angle it is shot at is probably its best angle. Why don't I just reserve judgement until I have it in hand.
