Stands for "Hot Damn Another Datsun!"
Somehow the perfect storm of a very hard-to-find Boulevard release, mixed with a JDM overload, followed by Super Treasure Hunt resulted in the collecting world becoming Datsun Wagon obsessed. I would love to go back in time just five years and tell collectors who were clamoring for the latest '67 Camaro and Chevy Panel that the most popular model among collectors would be a Japanese Station Wagon from the early 70's that your friend Jack's mom drove. How awesome is that.
Well this yellow version sporting a vintage Datsun logo is not going to help the hype die down. Sure, some have said they don't like it as much as the two previous versions, but it looks good enough to set the world afire again. At least it is not a Super.
So here we are. Hot Damn Another Datsun! the folks will say, the same way they would say it when they hit the pegs over the last few months. The same way pallet-raiders and phone-filming Youtubers have said it in the wee hours of the morning. The same way they will say it in a couple of months when Batch G hits.
So yeah, that photo at the top of the post is to get you riled up. It is always fun to rile up a few collectors. (Especially when they drop lines like "No wonder we couldn't find any!") We have documented it before. We got lucky at a few TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and Shopko stores back in September 2013. It may seem unlikely, but while there were a few people after the Boulevard Datsun back then, it wasn't nearly what it is now. But as many eager collectors realized this green Wagon was not going to be easy to find, the hype took off. It is what it is, and the Boulevard Wagon's entry into the pantheon of legendary Hot Wheels is eminent.
This yellow isn't the Boulevard, but it is cool. They could have made the JDM Legends logo a little clearer. But hell, we will take it. After all...
