Tesla Model S Wins Models, BMW Manufacturers

320 new EV's were registered in 2016 in Luxembourg, with the EV Share ending at a record 0.63%, a bit disappointing considering that is less than the 2014 record  of 390 sales, so let's hope 2017 brings better numbers.

The Tesla Model S won the 2016 Best Seller trophy award for the first time, with a personal best of 50 units, surpassing the two chronical leaders in the Grand Duchy, the Renault Zoe and BMW i3.

Looking at the remaining positions, the BMW 225xe Active Tourer had a warm welcome by local buyers, jumping to Fourth in its first year on the market, making it the Rookie of the Year and Best Selling PHEV, while the #6 Volvo XC90 T8 was the Best Selling SUV.

Looking at the manufacturers ranking, BMW won the trophy (25%), followed by Tesla (20%) and Volkswagen (17%).

1-2 for Tesla

237 new EV's were registered this year in Luxembourg, with the EV Share at 0.6%, a bit disappointing considering their neighbors, but the prospects for growth are good.

The leader Tesla Model S won the Monthly Best Sellers trophy for the fourth month in a row, with 9 units registered in September, but the real surprise belonged to another Tesla, the Model X, landing last month with 7 units, with the Californian SUV allowing Tesla a 1-2 win in September.

Looking at the manufacturers ranking, BMW leads (24%), followed by Tesla (20%) and Volkswagen (18%), but with the Palo Alto-based manufacturer now having two successful models, it seems a question of time until it displaces BMW from the leadership.
