AMD RX Vega To Be Announced At SIGGRAPH Based On Report From Radeon Team

AMD Vega FE has made it to the people and we are already getting results and while people are comparing it to the GTX 1080 what they are forgetting is that Vega FE is not a gaming oriented GPU. Previously AMD CEO Lisa Su confirmed that AMD RX Vega will be released at SIGGRAPH but the event description left out any mention of the upcoming gaming GPUs.

This caused some confusion regarding the release of the AMD RX Vega GPUs and whether or not they would be announced at SIGGRAPH at the end of the month. The Radeon team has made it clear through a tweet that we will be able to see AMD RX Vega gaming GPUs at the event as promised by AMD CEO. Raja Koduri has also been teasing people about the upcoming products.

AMD’s Jason Evangelho made it very clear that the Vega FE is not optimized for and seeing how it compares to the GTX 1080, the AMD Radeon drivers team will need to find some way of getting 30% performance if AMD is looking to compete with high-end Nvidia GPUs. Then again, we do not know the pricing of these GPUs and if the price is right AMD might not need to compete at all.
AMD RX Vega
According to Koduri:
Consumer RX will be much better optimized for all the top gaming titles and flavors of RX Vega will actually be faster than Frontier version!
AMD has managed to tackle Intel in the CPU market and it seems that Intel is researching a new next generation core in order to take on Ryzen in the long term. I can only hope that AMD RX Vega will be able to do the same in the GPU market.
The Vega GPUs released at SIGGRAPH will most probably be reference design versions and aftermarket versions are expected to come out in the first week of August. AMD GPU partners include Sapphire, MSI, Asus, and Gigabyte.
Let us know what you think about AMD RX Vega and whether or not you are interested in building an all AMD PC this year.
