HYUNDAI’S DISPLAY AUDIO SYSTEM WINS 2015 EDITORS’ CHOICE AWARD FROM REVIEWED.COM

HYUNDAI’S DISPLAY AUDIO SYSTEM WINS 2015 EDITORS’ CHOICE AWARD FROM REVIEWED.COM

At the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES®), the experts from Reviewed.com/USA TODAY selected the all-new Display Audio System as a 2015 CES Editors’ Choice Award for Hyundai’s innovation, use of technology, design and value.
“With Display Audio honored among the thousands of game-changing products at CES, it shows Hyundai’s commitment to deliver the best owner experience possible,” said Mike O’Brien, vice president of corporate and product planning, Hyundai Motor America. “We are very proud that the Display Audio system will help bring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to more Hyundai customers.”
Display Audio is a high resolution seven-inch color touch-screen display that has been optimized specifically for enhanced smartphone integrations and the latest generation Blue Link system. iPhone owners can use Apple CarPlay to take the familiar features from their iPhones and put them right on the touch-screen display while driving. Android Auto brings the Android experience into the car by ‘projecting’ apps and services into the Display Audio system. Android Auto is designed to make driving safer and easier by providing the information drivers need when they’re on the road.
The Display Audio system brings the newest smartphone integrations into Hyundai vehicles using an easy-to-access USB port. Once the connection is made, users can access their smartphone for phone calls and contacts, music, navigation, messaging, and optimized third-party apps. Display Audio will have navigation capability through smartphone integrations and will also offer entertainment apps for music, news, sports, and Podcasts. Apple CarPlay offers third-party audio app support, such as Beats Music, iHeartRadio, MLB At Bat, Spotify, Stitcher, CBS Radio News and Podcasts, among others. Android Auto’s initial app roster includes iHeartRadio, MLB At Bat, Spotify, SoundCloud, Pandora, TextMe and WhatsApp. Each partner plans to add additional third-party apps in the future and these will not require any vehicle software updates.
The Display Audio system will also incorporate Hyundai’s latest and most innovative in-vehicle technology by offering a simple, multi-use home screen, HD Radio® capability and mixed AM, FM and SiriusXM presets.

HYUNDAI BLUE LINK TO DEBUT SMARTWATCH APP

HYUNDAI BLUE LINK TO DEBUT SMARTWATCH APP

Smartwatch sales are skyrocketing and starting early in 2015 Hyundai owners will be able to connect with their cars using these wearable devices and the Hyundai Blue Link® smartwatch app. Hyundai will debut and demonstrate the Blue Link smartwatch app at Pepcom’s Digital Experience and at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES®). Pepcom’s Digital Experience takes place before CES on Jan. 5 and Hyundai’s exhibit (North Hall, booth #2818) at CES will be open Jan. 6-9, 2015. Hyundai’s cloud-based Blue Link platform allows features like remote start and service information to be quickly accessed through devices like smartwatches and smartphones. Hyundai partnered with Station Digital Media to develop the Blue Link smartwatch app.
“This new app expands Hyundai’s exploration into how wearable technology and Blue Link fit into a customer’s lifestyle,” said Barry Ratzlaff, executive director, customer connect and service business development, Hyundai Motor America. “Connecting to your car through a smartwatch and voice recognition was previously something seen only in science fiction movies. Now, we can provide this capability to owners of Hyundai vehicles equipped with Blue Link.”
The app is easy to use. The wearer simply taps an icon or uses voice commands to execute remote functions. The Blue Link smartwatch app allows Hyundai owners to remote start, lock and unlock doors as well as find their car in a crowded parking lot. Pushing the microphone icon on the watch activates the voice function, where the driver can execute commands such as “Start my car,” “Lock my car” or “Find my car.”
The Blue Link smartwatch app must be paired via Bluetooth to an owner’s smartphone that contains the Blue Link mobile app. Remote functions can then be executed from almost anywhere in the U.S. as long as the user’s smartphone has a Bluetooth and cellular or Internet connection. Hyundai representatives will be demonstrating the Blue Link smartwatch app on Samsung, Motorola, Sony and LG smartwatches. Android Wear users can download the app from Google Play for free starting in the first quarter of 2015.
The Blue Link smartwatch app works with first and next generation Blue Link equipped Hyundai models. The first generation Blue Link system rolled out on the 2012 Sonata and expanded across the lineup through 2013. Next generation Blue Link equipped models include the 2015 Genesis, Sonata and Azera. The smartwatch app provides all Blue Link users, including first generation owners, with even more freedom of choice when interacting with their Hyundai.

  • Remote Engine Start
  • Remote Engine Stop (Only available when vehicle is in remote engine start mode)
  • Remote Door Lock / Unlock
  • Remote Flash Lights / Honk Horn
  • Car Finder

HYUNDAI VEHICLES NOW INCLUDE THREE YEARS OF COMPLIMENTARY ASSURANCE CONNECTED CARE SERVICE

Safety and Car Care Features Standard on All Blue Link-Equipped Models

COSTA MESA, Calif.,  – Starting May 16, 2013, all new Blue Link-equipped Hyundai vehicles will come standard with three years of complimentary Assurance Connected Care service. Announced at the 2013 New York International Auto Show in March, Assurance Connected Care is powered by the automaker’s Blue Link telematics platform, which now has enrolled over 400,000 subscribers. Assurance Connected Care makes Hyundai the only non-premium automaker to offer a complete package of complimentary safety and car care services to its owners.

Assurance Connected Care is a suite of safety and car care features providing Hyundai owners with free proactive services including automatic collision notification, SOS emergency assistance, enhanced roadside assistance, monthly vehicle diagnostics reports and maintenance alerts. Assurance Connected Care makes Hyundai the first manufacturer to include this degree of built-in safety and car care services standard for three years. The service is fully transferable to subsequent owners within three years of the vehicle’s date of first use.

“Assurance Connected Care gives us the opportunity to remind our customers that Hyundai ‘has your back,’” said Barry Ratzlaff, Director of Customer Connect, Hyundai Motor America. “This new suite of Assurance features allows drivers to feel safe and secure and enjoy a worry-free car ownership experience. With a simple press of a button in the vehicle, Blue Link agents are available 24/7/365 to help in emergencies or to schedule car care.”

Assurance Connected Care is currently starring in Hyundai’s newest promotional campaign, which features a brand new remix of Bob Marley’s iconic track, “Three Little Birds” created by Stephen Marley and producer/DJ Jason Bentley. The track is part of the Legend: Remixedproject, a collection of remixed Bob Marley classics, created by renowned artists.

Updates to Blue Link packaging and pricing also will take effect with the introduction of Assurance Connected Care. Owners of Blue Link-equipped vehicles with active Assurance Connected Care service will have the option to upgrade at a reduced price, making features such as remotes start, stolen vehicle recovery and turn by turn navigation an even better value. Full pricing and packaging details will be posted on http://www.hyundaibluelink.com/.
