New Genesis Concept coming up.

Hyundai will show a concept version of their "3 series fighter" at the New York auto show in a few days.
No doubt it will look nice.
Since they usually have great looking concepts (Like that super good looking Coupe a few months ago)
Unfortunately, they also have a history of turning these concepts into super boring/uninspired production models.
I guess that coupe concept was supposed to be a preview of the new G90/Equus. And look what happened there...

So we can only hope...

As I mentioned before, they will first rebadge the existing Hyundai Genesis sedan as the G80 for the new luxury brand.

a twist on the Red Bull mini drome, now it's a figure eight!

Red Bull Mini Drome is an all-day racing competition for single-speed fixed gear cyclists where they can race against the clock and then against each other to see who is the fastest burner on two wheels.

Just recently in March, I posted about a Red Bull mini drome http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2015/03/mini-drome-racing.html and it was oval.

Red Bull Mini Drome in 2015 is set to be extra special because a hardly seen Figure 8 track is going to be built this time around. Known to only have existed a few times — one being the 1995 Toronto Cycle Messenger World Championships — it involves more speed, extra precision and a bit of danger as cyclists take turn after turn without rest.

Coming to life Friday, June 19, in an old 1920s Queens dance hall that has been holding up as a creative art space called Project Studio for the previous 20 years. Its recently restored colorful and antique fixtures and moldings lend to the spectator-friendly, playing-where-you-don’t-belong vibe synonymous with Red Bull Mini Drome.

meanwhile, in transportation news, a section of NY Subway gets shut down and snarled due to copper theft of power lines

A decade ago, copper was 80 cents a pound. Now, it's 3 dollars a pound, and this has risk takers stealing power lines, plumbing, etc from anything that isn't watched, like apartment building utility closets, fire hydrant covers, and now high voltage power lines on subway train tracks.

 In Washington state in 2013, a man clipped 70,000 pounds of copper wire from the light rail tracks south of Seattle. That same year, some telecommunications linemen at New York's Long Island Rail Road made off with $250,000 worth of copper in 56 thefts.

In the May 26 heist in the Howard Beach section of Queens, the rubber-shrouded cable had an estimated combined weight of 1,500 pounds that could fetch about $4,500.
