Ferrari LaFerrari Review

The Ferrari LaFerrari is one of the most extreme, powerful and downright exceptional production cars ever created by any manufacturer, serving as the ultimate embodiment of speed and innovation in this great era of hypercars.

As a successor to the legendary Ferrari Enzo, the LaFerrari is among the likes of the McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder in an elite class of hypercars that have reached heights beyond what most manufacturers could ever dream of achieving.

Ferrari LaFerrari front view doors down

This force of nature is not only armed with a hair-raising, naturally aspirated V12 engine, but also applies F1-inspired hybrid technology to further enhance its performance, and was the first flagship Ferrari to do so.

Technology and performance are where it thrives, but it also looks magnificent and drives like the best Ferrari ever made – and it might just be exactly that.

Ferrari thinks so highly of it that its bold name, “LaFerrari”, literally means “The Ferrari” – perhaps pointing out that this is the ultimate personification of the company at its best. This could well be one of the most iconic hypercars of our generation, and we’re here to bring you exclusive LaFerrari images and access from our time at Tom Hartley Cars.

How Many LaFerraris Were Made?

It’s not quite as exclusive as the Koenigsegg we saw recently, but just 499 LaFerrari examples were created and they were only made available to serious Ferrari collectors – those with at least five Ferraris to their name, apparently.

You also had to be personally approved by then-chairman Luca di Montezemolo before being able to purchase the LaFerrari.

How Much Does a LaFerrari Cost?

When it was initially launched, the LaFerrari’s price was £1,150,000 (around $1.5m), but it’s long since sold out and, if you’re lucky enough to afford one and come across one for sale in the UK, it’s likely to cost you upwards of £2.4million in 2019.

The LaFerrari’s cost is only going to continue to rise, as its appreciation rate will inevitably increase each year.

LaFerrari Top Speed, 0-60mph, and Performance

Packed with a monstrous 6.3-litre V12 engine optimised for high-rev horsepower, the LaFerrari would’ve been more powerful than most, even before adding its hybrid system.

Ferrari LaFerrari V12 engine

The hybrid tech isn’t just used to make the LaFerrari more environmentally friendly, but to make this already-rapid car even faster.

The V12 perfectly coordinates with the F1-inspired Hy-Kers hybrid system (which consists of a battery pack and electric motor) to produce a mouth-watering combined output of 950bhp and 663lb-ft of torque.

It works in silence as an inconspicuous partner to the engine, effortlessly supplementing the V12’s performance by adding power, refining response and enhancing delivery.

The LaFerrari’s top speed is 218mph (350km/h), and it goes from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in 2.9 seconds, hitting 124mph (200km/h) just four seconds later.
Ferrari LaFerrari wheel

It set a Fiorano track time of 1m20s, which might not mean too much to you, until you find out it’s a whole 5s faster than the Enzo and 3s quicker than the F12berlinetta, making the LaFerrari the fastest road car in the company’s history. No Ferrari ever created has raced around the Fiorano as quick as the LaFerrari.

Its presence is heard before it is seen, with the roaring V12 sounding like the true epitome of power. It sends shivers down your spine as you push the ‘Engine Start’ button and bring the LaFerrari to life. We felt as if it had a similar sound to the much-loved Ferrari Enzo, despite being over a decade newer than the modern classic.

Ferrari provided a whole new definition of ‘fast’ with the LaFerrari, offering the ultimate performance backed by the most soulful soundtrack of them all, the V12.

With so much power, you’d expect to be pretty on-edge driving it, but you’re not.

There’s no doubting that LaFerrari’s appearance, sound, stats, price-tag and pretty much everything else about it is intimidating, but its driveability makes you feel at-ease (ish!) behind the wheel. As you’d expect, the handling and throttle response is razor-sharp, as is the feedback, and it’s probably the most natural-feeling luxury hybrid out there.

LaFerrari Design: Interior and Exterior

The LaFerrari looks every bit the hypercar – it’s mind-blowing. It looks so extreme and spaceship-like that the very sight of it is mouth-watering.

On the outside, it’s striking and bold, with a sleek profile that stays true to the classic Ferrari sports cars of the past. Walking around the car, we were able to follow the curves, vents and tiny details that have been carefully sculpted to create a beautifully smooth body.

Ferrari LaFerrari side and wheel

Its prominent front wing is very F1-like, and aerodynamics obviously played a large part in how it was designed, with active aero features including front and rear diffusers, an underbody guide vane and a rear spoiler.

The aerodynamic features react automatically when the driving conditions suit, helping generate better downforce without creating unwanted drag.

If you’re more into your soft-tops and convertibles, there’s also a LaFerrari Aperta, a spider version which was introduced three years after the coupe we got to see. You don’t need us to tell you that it, too, is absolutely stunning.

LaFerrari Interior Design

So, getting inside the LaFerrari – it’s actually physically not as awkward as you’d think. It’s hardly a tight squeeze and you’re definitely not on your hands and knees trying to crawl out of it either, unlike some of the less practical supercars we’ve seen.

Once you’re in, carbon-fibre pretty much covers the cabin along with some bits of upmarket Alcantara, which gives the LaFerrari a very performance-orientated, but high-quality finish.

Ferrari LaFerrari interior POV

Its fully digital dashboard is distinctive and only adds to the spaceship-like feel on the inside, and the steering wheel is where most buttons and switches are – including the ‘Engine Start’ button and the Manettino dial, which gives you Sport, Race and Wet modes.

Ferrari LaFerrari dashboard

Something of note when we were inside the LaFerrari was the seating position; you sit very low, but it’s not necessarily a problem because the steering wheel and pedals are adjustable and can be moved towards or away from you – race-car style. There’s a nice degree of comfort and each customer has tailor-made seats fitted prior to delivery.

Being so wide, the view out the front is good but the rear view could be better, as with most hypercars. The harness is also a bit of a pain to get on quickly, but with 950bhp and hitting 218mph, the extra safety isn’t exactly a bad idea.

So Fast, So Impeccable... Where Next?

So, a few years on from the outstanding LaFerrari’s debut, what can possibly compete with it? Where could we possibly go from here?
Ferrari LaFerrari headlight

There’s a few in the mix, from the Bugatti Chiron and McLaren Senna, to the Koenigsegg Agera RS and upcoming Mercedes-AMG One.

But, as far as an authentic all-rounder with an engaging drive, immaculate design and thunderous power goes, has any other hypercar quite hit the heights of the LaFerrari yet? We don’t think so.

The LaFerrari, as its name suggests, is the utmost expression of what Ferrari strives for – excellence. You could call it the King of Kings, as it proudly represents the pinnacle of Ferrari’s work to date, incorporating all that’s great about the Prancing Horse.

Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Full Review | Specifications, Price, Engine, Top Speed

2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE

Overview

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is an American automobile manufactured by General Motors. The first production started back in 1966 and it was designed to compete with Ford Mustang. Four different generations of the Camaro were developed before production ended in 2002. Later in 2009, the fifth generation was in production and today we have the sixth generation Camaro, a completely improved sports car. The Chevrolet Camaro is usually classified as pony car or muscle car. This car was replacing its predecessor the Chevrolet Corvair, a muscle car.

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 was built to compete with the most advanced sports car in the world and we can definitely say that General Motors got their formulae well just by looking at the menacing design. The car gets classified as both luxury sports car and muscle car.

Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 specifications

Specifications

Designs

The design of the sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 has improved greatly. You can clearly say this Camaro is the among the best looking car General Motors has ever built.

The massive upper and lower grille openings allow air into the engine for maximum cooling. The carbon-fibre composite hood acts as an air extractor. It directs air from the engine to decrease lift. Downforce has greatly increased in the new Chevy Camaro ZL1 with the help of a three-stanchion spoiler and many other components all-together. The front splitter also looks very aggressive.

The Chevy Camaro ZL1 takes aerodynamic to another level. Even the front Chevy badge has been hollowed out to increase airflow. The rear diffuser and wing help in keeping a high level of performance during the whole journey.

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is also available as a convertible. The fully electronic convertible top can be retracted while driving up to 30 mph.

Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 review

The interior of the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is mostly the same as the other types of Camaro except for the steering wheel, seats and exposed carbon-fibre. The car has a flat-bottom steering wheel that makes you feel like you are in a supercar and yeah, the steering wheel is heated. The Camaro ZL1 also features standard RECARO performance seats with well-designed bolsters that help to reduce arm interference during quick shifts. The power seats come with memory package as well. The car has rear seats but do not even think about it due to its size. Maybe only kids can fit back there.

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 comes equipped with a head-up display, a wireless smartphone charger and Apple CarPlay or Android Auto compatibility. The old school parking brake has been replaced with an electronic one and the car has keyless open and start system. Inside the car is a Bose premium audio system that delivers amazing sound quality. The Chevy Camaro ZL1 has a built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi that can connect up to seven devices simultaneously.

Chevy Camaro ZL1 interior

Engine

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is the most powerful Camaro ever produced. Under the hood lies a 6.2L supercharged V8. The Eaton supercharger has a new cooling design that has more efficient heat exchange thus, providing consistent power during the whole ride. The powerful engine makes 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. You can have either a six-speed manual gearbox with Active Rev Matching or an all-new paddle-shift ten-speed automatic transmission. The rear-wheel-drive Camaro ZL1 will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5s and it will do a quarter mile in 11.4s. The car has a top speed of 200 mph.

With the help of the 650 hp, the Magnetic Ride Technology and a track aero package, the Chevy Camaro ZL1 has completed the famous Nurburgring lap in an astonishing 7:29:60, better than the last generation ZL1 by nearly 12s. The lighter and stiffer platform that the new ZL1 is built on has also helped a lot in breaking this record.

Additional Specifications

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 uses standard 20 inch forged aluminium wheels that are wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar summer-only tires that are best for track use. The car also has large Brembo brakes that allows precise braking while resisting fade.

The Chevy Camaro ZL1 features Magnetic Ride Control suspension that reads the road conditions 1000 times per second. As you hit a corner, the suspension gets stiffer and body roll is reduced immediately. This system basically allows you to drive your Camaro ZL1 to its limits while keeping you firmly on the ground.

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is also equipped with Performance Traction Management System (eLSD) that makes it easier for you to achieve quicker lap times by giving you high-speed stability, improving "turn in" response and corner exit speed.

The new ZL1 has Custom Launch Control which uses Performance Traction Control to keep the rear tires spinning at the correct speed and it also allows you to adjust your launch RPM as well as wheel slippage through the Driver Information Centre. The car also has a Line Lock feature that primarily allows you to lock the front wheels thus allowing the rear wheels to spin, warming the tires for maximum grip.

1LE Track Package

The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 comes with a 1LE Track Package which will improve aero and downforce much more. The package will feature exposed weave carbon-fibre wing, front dive planes and adjustable suspension. This package will make the car much more agile around the track.

Price

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 has a starting price of around $62,000. Currently, anyone interested can order one and you can also build your own on Chevrolet website. For such a performance, I think the Camaro ZL1 is worth the price.

Chevy Corvette ZR1 Review | Full Specification, Price, Engine

2018 Chevy Corvette ZR1

Overview

For over eight years, Corvette team used all that they had to create a solid successor to the C6 and the new C7 ZR1 is the result. The previous one from 2009 left quite a good impression with its 638 hp and we are all expecting more from the new one.

Revealed in Dubai, UAE, the new Chevy Corvette ZR1 is the fastest production car that General Motors has ever made. From commanding stance, a lot of carbon-fiber to muscular lines, they designed the ZR1 with one purpose in mind: Performance

The overall of the Chevy Corvette ZR1, especially the design, has been greatly updated to make the car looks angrier than ever. As the manufacturers say, this is a luxury sports car. Apart from the good looks, the performance of the car will be another reason why you will want one badly. Let's take a look at the specifications, shall we?

2018 Chevy Corvette ZR1 specs

Specifications

Designs

The Chevy Corvette ZR1 is designed to have maximum downforce as possible while still making the car looks appealing to the eyes. This car is all about lightweight design. Starting with the fact that the engine on the front is out in the open. Yes, the engine is not covered with the hood cover. What General Motors refers to as the "halo hood". The carbon weave is perfectly aligned with the hood cover of the Chevy Corvette ZR1 but the intercooler cover will move around when the car is accelerating. There are also two openings in front of the engine to remove hot air from the engine bay.

The lower front wing of the Chevy Corvette ZR1 gives the car an advantage over the standard Z06 in terms of increased downforce, thus enabling the car to reach its record-breaking top speed. Also, the ZR1 is one of the very first production car to has a front underwing, borrowed directly from race cars. This additional piece of carbon-fibre will turn its closeout panel into a downforce control surface.

The massive rear carbon-fibre high wing makes about 60 percent more downforce than the previous generation C6. The Quattro exhaust system provides four sound modes namely Track, Sport, Tour and Stealth. So it's up to you to decide how loud you want your Chevy Corvette ZR1. Believe it or not, the sound that the exhaust system creates is very satisfying.

The Chevy Corvette ZR1 is equipped with standard high-performance Brembo carbon ceramic brakes which will provide ultimate stopping power. The car uses 19-inch wheels on the front and 20-inch at the back, all wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport.

The whole car weighs only 1615 kg (3560 lbs), bear in mind that the Chevy Corvette ZR1 has all the luxury you could imagine.

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Top Speed

Interior

The interior of the Chevy Corvette ZR1 is not that much different from the Z06. Expect to see a lot of exposed carbon-fibre on the dashboard and in between the seats. The rest of the interior is mostly leather or Alcantara (depending on owner's choice). Once again, the Chevy Corvette ZR1 is a luxury sports car. The Corvette team focused on both luxury and performance and with the results, we can say they are successful. "The car has a comfortable and functional interior", says General Motors.

Engine

What is under the hood might be the best thing about the whole car. The Chevy Corvette ZR1 has a 6.2L supercharged V8. The massive engine makes 755 hp and 715 lb-ft of torque. The ZR1 can achieve a top speed of 212 mph, which is very impressive for a Corvette. The car has not yet been tested on track but it is expected that 0 to 60 mph will happen in approximately 2.7s. You can get your Chevy Corvette ZR1 with either a seven-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic

Price

The Chevy Corvette ZR1 has a starting price of about $120,000, while to get the convertible version will set you some $124,000 without options. The car will be on sale by Spring 2018. Honestly, for that much power, the Chevy Corvette ZR1 is very cheap compared to other cars in the same category.

ZTK Performance Package

A special package is available for those who want more from their Chevy Corvette ZR1. They developed the ZTK Performance Package to conquer the track in record time. This package comes with a high rear wing and carbon-fibre end caps to the front splitter for increased downforce. You will also get stiffer chassis compared to the normal ZR1 and specific Magnetic Ride Control tuning for optimized cornering grip. In addition, a set of Michelin Sport Cup 2 tyres comes in the package. For the time being, we do not really know how much this package will cost but expect it to be around $3000.

2018 Chevy Corvette ZR1 0-60 mph

The Chevy Corvette ZR1 has already become a favourite among many of us and it has already earned a place on my list of cars to get. From the beautifully crafted interior and exterior to the loud exhaust to the undeniable performance, General Motors has finally created a car to make an automotive enthusiast completely satisfied. Let's also not forget that this car is the cheapest in its category.

2018 Ferrari 488 Pista Revealed | Specifications, Price and Competitors

2018 Ferrari 488 Pista

Ferrari has released its latest supercar and it is called the Ferrari 488 Pista. The photos of the car have been leaked on the internet recently by one of Ferrari's employees which means that we could have got a glimpse of the beast before its manufacturer officially release it and shortly after the post was deleted by Ferrari. Later the same day, Ferrari revealed few pictures of the car along with some unclear specifications. Just like the looks, the specs of the car will also amaze you. Let's have a deeper look at the Ferrari 488 Pista.

The Ferrari 488 Pista is an updated version of the 488 GTB, just like the Ferrari 458 Speciale was the updated version of the 458. At one glance, it is quite obvious that the car is simply a better 488 GTB in all aspects. Even though Ferrari already shared the first few pictures of the car, very few people know about it. How is that possible? Well, we are still trying to figure out. The Ferrari 488 Pista will be displayed at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show and the general public will not only get a chance to see the car but they will be able to order theirs also.

Ferrari 488 Pista Specifications

Specifications

Designs

The Ferrari 488 Pista is designed to be better than the 488 GTB in terms of aerodynamics and downforce. According to Ferrari, the car has been inspired greatly from the Ferrari 488 GTE, which is the track version of the 488 GTB.

The F1 inspired S-duct and front diffusers are part of the updates for the car, increasing downforce by 20 percent over the previous 488 GTB. The rear 'blown' spoiler is higher and wider than on any other car before, eliminating the need for a rear wing. The Ferrari 488 Pista is also equipped with new GTE-sourced 'double-kink' rear diffusers, making the car sounds more ferocious on the ear at all gears and at all speeds. Bespoke Michelin track-focused tyres will be wrapped around the new carbon-fibre wheels, reducing the weight of the car by 90 kg.

As the makers say, the Ferrari 488 Pista will have a dry weight of just 1280 kg, achieved only with the optional lightweight features.

2018 Ferrari 488 Pista Review

Interior

The interior of the Ferrari 488 Pista looks just like the previous 488 GTB at first glance. But now, the throttle response is faster along with improved handling to go around corners faster. The car has the sixth evolution of Slide-Slip Angle Control that controls the electronic differential. Also equipped with magnetorheological suspension and the F1-Trac stability control which integrates along the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer software. Ferrari says that it is now easier to get the car to its limits and exploit its handling.

There are rumours on the internet saying that the Ferrari 488 Pista can do a lap of the Ferrari's Fiorano test track faster than the iconic Laferrari. Imagine how crazy this car will be if this rumour turns out to be true.

Ferrari 488 Pista interior

Ferrari 488 Pista horsepower

Engine

Finally, let's talk about what is powering this car. The Ferrari 488 Pista has a 3.9L twin-turbo V8 producing 711 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque. The 488 Pista has 50 hp more than the 488 GTB. The car will do 0 to 62 mph in only 2.85s and it will reach 124 mph in approximately 7.6s. The Ferrari 488 Pista has a top speed of more than 211 mph (exact number not yet available), but one thing is sure, it will outrun its competitors in a straight line as it is more track-focused.

NOTE: All the specifications of the car has not yet been released. As for now, this is what we know of the Ferrari 488 Pista.

2018 Ferrari 488 Pista top speed

Price

Yet again, Ferrari has not announced the price but according to us, the Ferrari 488 Pista will be priced at around $298,000. The car will cost approximately $44,000 more than the 488 GTB.

Competitors

Well, you know here at SuperCar Guru, it is a must to talk about competitors and here again, let's take a look at the best competitor of the Ferrari 488 Pista.

McLaren 720s

Ferrari 488 Pista competitor McLaren 720s

Yes, this is the best competitor to the Ferrari 488 Pista. The same car that was trending everywhere when it was officially released and since then this car has been the benchmark every supercar manufacturer has been trying to compete with. But here, we are not going to talk about this.

The McLaren 720s is a British sports car manufactured by McLaren Automotive. It is the second all-new car in the McLaren Super Series. This car is actually replacing the previous 650s.

The car is powered by a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 making 710 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque. The car will achieve 62 mph in 2.9s and it will accelerate to 124 mph in 7.8s. The car has a top speed of 212 mph (341 km/h).

The McLaren 720s has a modified chassis which is lighter and stiffer compared to the 650s. There are a lot of features inspired from the legendary McLaren F1, such as the F1 twin-hinged dihedral doors. Inside the headlights are hidden air vents that allow air into the two small radiators in front of the wheels. The doors are designed to have air channels that direct air to the engine.

The exterior has been shaped to increase downforce by 50 percent over the previous 650s. The interior of the car features exposed carbon-fibre everywhere and it also has a folding driver display, the very first car to have this piece of invention. The car has a dry weight of 1283 kg (2829 lbs).

The McLaren 720s is priced at $291,564 excluding options.

McLaren 720s specifications

For the time being, we cannot really compare these two cars as the Ferrari 488 Pista has not yet been tested on track and there are still some unknown specifications of the car. We wish to see these two racing against each other on a track very soon. Also, McLaren Automotive will be releasing the McLaren 720LT, which will be an updated version of the 720s. Will the Ferrari 488 Pista be able to compete against this one too? Only time can tell. As for now, let's just satisfy ourselves with the pictures of the menacing Ferrari 488 Pista and the incredible driving experience of the McLaren 720s.

Let me know in the comments section below your thoughts about the new Ferrari 488 Pista and which one you would prefer to own one day.

McLaren Senna | Review, Specifications, Price and Competitors

2018 McLaren Senna Review

Overview

The McLaren Senna is the latest limited-production supercar by McLaren. The car is a tribute to the famous racing driver Ayrton Senna. The mid-engined supercar is also a new addition to the McLaren Ultimate Series, joining the McLaren F1 and P1.

The McLaren Senna has been revealed online by the company on December 10, 2017. There are rumours that the car will be officially revealed at the Geneva Motor Show 2018. The supercar will be hand-built at the McLaren Production Centre in Woking, Surrey, England. It is limited to only 500 units and at the time being all of the Senna have already been sold out. The price of the McLaren Senna is $1,003,950 but the last car was sold at auction for a whopping $2,670,000, more than double of its original price. How crazy is that? A car that has not yet been officially revealed is already sold out. Delivery is scheduled during the last couple of months of 2018.

Who is Ayrton Senna?

Ayrton Senna, born on March 21, 1960, was a Brazilian racing driver who won three Formula One World Championships for McLaren in 1988, 1990 and 1991. He is widely known as one of the greatest Formula One drivers of all time. Ayrton Senna also holds the record for the fifth most Formula One Grand Prix wins (41 in total). Sadly, he died on May 1, 1994, as a result of his car crashing against a cement barrier during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Italy. Read more about Ayrton Senna here.

McLaren Senna Specifications

Specifications

Designs

The design of the McLaren Senna has been receiving a lot of negative criticism since the company revealed it online but this is not what matters to McLaren apparently. The makers of the car had only one vision in mind, to make the car as quick and lightweight as possible. If you take a close look at the car, you will see that each curve, each vent and each bolt has its specific function. The car is built to be completely functional. The car has dihedral doors just like the McLaren F1 and P1. Believe me, it is a car that will make you fall in love with it the more you see and know it.

Exterior

The exterior of the McLaren Senna looks very menacing. The car is largely based on the McLaren 720s as it is using a modified version of its carbon-fibre monocoque. Its large double-element tilting rear wing acts as airbrake also. The roof scoop is inspired by Formula One racing cars. The Senna has air-intakes everywhere. The front and side air-intakes improve the car's aerodynamics greatly. The car is very low to the ground, giving it lot of downforce. The car also has a triple exhaust outlet, making the car looks angrier. The McLaren Senna is using the new generation Brembo carbon ceramic brakes as well as new set of central-locking alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo R tires. It weighs only 1198 kg (2641 lb). You can also get the car with the optional see-through glass panels in the doors for greater visibility and to further reduce the weight of the car.

McLaren Senna Top Speed

Interior

The interior of the McLaren Senna is also designed to save weight. Inside the car, there is exposed carbon-fibre everywhere. The seats can be either upholstered in Alcantara or leather, as per customer's choice. Behind the two seats, expect to find enough space for two helmets and race suits, keep in mind that it is a weight-saving car. The interior to a great extent resembles the interior of the McLaren 720s with some modifications added to it. On an overall, the McLaren Senna has a good amount of visibility except at the back, where the large two-element wing blocks some of its rear visibility.

McLaren Senna interior

Engine

The McLaren Senna is powered by a 4.0L Twin-Turbocharged V8, the same as in the McLaren 720s but with some modifications to it. The engine makes 789 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels (RWD). The car has a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Due to its light-weight body, the Senna will do 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in only 2.8s and it will cross 124mph (200 km/h) in 6.8s. The car will do a quarter mile in 9.9s. The McLaren Senna has a top speed of 211 mph (340 km/h). Unlike the P1, the Senna uses only gasoline.

McLaren Senna Horsepower

Competitors

Ferrari Laferrari

The best competitor to the McLaren Senna is none other than the Ferrari Laferrari. The Laferrari has a 6.3L V12 with a 161 hp electric motor, altogether producing 789 hp and 520 lb-ft of torque. Like the McLaren Senna, it uses carbon-fibre monocoque, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and it is rear-wheel drive (RWD). However, the Laferrari will reach 62 mph in just 2.4s, 0.4s faster than the Senna and it will reach 124 mph in less than 7s. The Laferrari will reach a top speed of 217 mph (349 km/h). The car weighs 1255 kg, a bit more than the McLaren Senna. Inside the car, there are lots of exposed carbon-fibre just like its competitor. 500 units were ever produced and the last one was auction for $7M to help those affected in Italy earthquake. The Ferrari Laferrari usually costs around $1,420,000.

Ferrari Laferrari Specifications

Porsche 918 Spyder

Another great competitor to the McLaren Senna is the Porsche 918 Spyder. The mid-engined naturally aspirated 4.6L V8 with additional two electric motors was produced between the year 2013 to 2015. 918 units were being produced at that time and all were sold out. Prices start at $845,000 and some even pay $2.4M to get the Porsche 918 Spyder in their garage. Let's talk numbers now. The 918 Spyder has 887 hp and 940 lb-ft of torque (V8 and two electric motors combined). The car uses a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch. It is a rear-wheel drive car and the front electric motor powers the front wheels. The 918 Spyder will accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 2.8s, the same amount of time as the McLaren Senna and it will reach 124 mph in 7.9s. The car has a top speed of 217 mph (350 km/h). The Porsche 918 Spyder weighs between 1634-1704 kg (depends on what options you are getting). Inside the cockpit, expect to see a mix of car-fibre and leather or Alcantara. The inside of the Porsche 918 Spyder is a bit more luxurious than its competitors as the latter focused much more on weight-saving.
